Pickup & refunds

Your cart and checkout

Items in your cart aren’t reserved, and your cart holds one sale’s items at a time. When you check out, they’re held for you for 10 minutes while you pay; if the time runs out, they go back on sale.

When you check out, your card is held, not charged. It’s charged once the seller’s inventory confirms each item is yours. If it sold at the sale in person first, the hold is released and you’re never charged; if you were already charged, you’re refunded in full automatically.

Picking it up

After paying you get an order code by email. Bring it to the sale and show it; the seller scans it and hands your items over. Each sale sets a pickup window, shown at checkout and in your email, counted from when you paid.

If you can’t make it

Contact the seller before your window ends. After the window, the seller may keep your payment and offer the item again.

Condition

Estate-sale items are sold as is. Check the photos and description before you reserve, and look the item over at pickup. If it isn’t what was described, tell the seller before you take it.

Refunds

You buy from the estate sale company running the sale, and they handle refunds. A refund can be issued at any time, in full, to your original card. It usually appears within 5 to 10 business days.

Payments

Your payment goes to the estate sale company’s own Stripe account, processed securely by Stripe, and appears on your statement under the company’s business name. EstateMate, operated by Viissue, Inc., runs the site and checkout and takes a fee from the sale. EstateMate never sees your card number. If you don’t recognize a charge or have a problem with an order, contact the seller first; a dispute with your bank is handled by the seller.

Questions

Contact us and we’ll help sort it out with the seller. These rules are part of our Terms of Service; how we handle your details is in our Privacy Policy.

Sellers: what you pay EstateMate

If your first purchase of a plan isn’t right for you, tell us within 14 days and we’ll refund it in full. After that, you can cancel any time and your plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for; we don’t refund partial periods.

An unused sale credit can be refunded in full within 30 days of purchase. Once a credit has been used for a sale, it can’t be refunded (a sale deleted within a day, with nothing added, gives its credit back). Our fee on an online sale is returned automatically when you refund that order in full from the app; card processing that Stripe keeps on a refund is between you and Stripe. If you were charged twice or in error, we’ll refund it in full. Ask through Support from your account’s email; refunds go back to the original card.
